Improving lives by improving roads

Enhancing our roadways is one of the many ways to improve the quality of life in our neighborhoods. The Bradley Avenue project expands the roadway and SR-67 bridge, reducing traffic congestion and air pollution related to idling cars stuck in traffic. Other beneficial features are new bike lanes and improved sidewalks with new shade trees, landscaping and street lighting. Additionally, a new sound wall along a portion of the roadway will decrease traffic noise for local residents and new bioswales will filter run-off, keeping our water supply clean. In  researching and developing the community engagement plan, the team identified barriers to participation that could be overcome with specific communications in not only English, but Spanish and Arabic as well. Nearly all materials were prepared in these three languages by our team. 

Our team, in support of the County’s Program Manager, planned
and executed a public meeting to inform the local community about:
the project’s purpose and beneficial features; answer their questions; and prepare them for the next steps in the project development
process. Our team’s proactive outreach resulted in over 100
participants at the public meeting. Plans for upcoming outreach
include a “Thank You Eblast” and a groundbreaking event to
celebrate the start of construction.
