SB 1 “The Gas Tax” Public Education Program

Creating Value

As part of an on-call contract, CityWorks designed and executed a public education program about SB 1, otherwise referred to as
The Gas Tax. At its heart, the public education program is about value — conveying the value of investing in a transportation system to meet future needs.

CityWorks has deep experience in communicating the value of infrastructure for water, as well as transportation infrastructure. We built creative, crisp, compelling messaging and visual language, and helped to deliver the story of value in engaging ways across the entire region of Riverside County. These methods include partnering with local cities in the region for a fact sheet series, and developing a social media series titled “Fix It Fridays.”

This work was recently recognized by the California Association of Governments, which encouraged the series to be shared by its member agencies with their constituents.
